A couple of weeks ago, Warner Bros mentioned that Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby with Leo DiCaprio was officially in the works, coming soon. Now Deadline reports that Ben Affleck is "in talks" to play the role of Tom Buchanan, joining a cast that also includes Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan. Affleck has been flirting with multiple projects to direct next, following The Town, but it looks like he'll be acting once again before he directs his next movie. Luhrmann is directing in 3D, adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1923 seminal classic.
Deadline adds that Tom Buchanan is the husband of Daisy (Mulligan), in a role originated by Bruce Dern in the 1974 movie. Luhrmann, who wrote the script with Craig Pearce, is still working on casting roles like Jordan Baker (rumored to be Hayley Atwell), gas ...
