Earlier this month we heard that Ron Howard's epic adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series might be in trouble at Universal, but could end up going into turnaround and get made at another studio. Well, it appears the axe has been avoided this time as THR reports Universal is moving forward with the project that includes three films and two seasons of television to tell the sprawling story of Roland Deschain, the last living member of a knightly order of gunslingers, and humanity?s last hope to save a civilization that will crumble unless he finds the Dark Tower. However, it sounds like the project will be delayed a bit.
Apparently the project hit some budgetary issues and what would've been a fall production start has been pushed back to allow for a rewrite from Akiva Goldsman to make the project cheaper to produce. At this time, no start ...
